Summer camp can be a highlight in a young person's life. I know it was for me. It is a time to experience making new friends, trying new activities, and being away from home, possibly for the first time. This time at Presmont may be a focal point in the development of their Christian beliefs. Camp is a time of sharing, growing and getting to know a new group of friends in a quiet, understanding and nurturing environment that will leave a lasting impression on many. It will also be a time of growing spiritually and getting to know God on a more personal level.
The Trustees and staff of Camp Presmont realize that for the duration of the camp, your most prized possession will be in our care. Your child's safety and well being are our utmost concern. Our staff consists of trained leaders that are capable of handling just about any situation or emergency, and they will be interacting with your child throughout their time at camp. Your child will be part of a cabin group, each of which will have adult counselors and possibly junior counselors for guidance and leadership. Your child will be cared for by adult role models who have the time, the abilities, and the knowledge to make their stay at Camp Presmont a memorable experience.
Some parents may have a difficult moment after leaving their children at Camp Presmont and starting the drive up the hill and towards home. That moment is expected, and your concerns are understandable. You may be assured that your child will be well fed, cared for, and nurtured in a safe Christian environment. This time at Camp Presmont may just be the start of a wonderful journey through God's world for your child.
We look forward to the privilege of having your child as a camper at Camp Presmont.
A servant of Christ,
David W. McFarlan; Chairman, Camp Presmont
